I wondered since they are just teaching me simple column math I will teach Jo and Isla.
Jo found it pretty easy and she kinda tought me. I gave here the question 9873+5362=???
I am not going to tell you the answer so you have to get a peice of paper out and then once you think you know the answer you should comment it below.
I showed Isla to how to do it and she knew so I gave her a harder one in the photo below. It was hard because they alreay know all of the maths that I gave them
Now I will show you how to do it/write it down.
Say you have a equation that is like 534+678=
You will work it out like this.
That is how you lay the numbers out

The green circle is to exsplain that you take the tens up to the next number.
The red circle is done wrong.
This one is Thousands.

ReplyDeleteI really like how you told the readers how to work it out and used bits of paper to do so. Next time you could maybe write the numbers in felt instead of pencil.
