Pet Day today

Today Is pet day the day of the year that I have been  waiting for. I am bringing My pony that is comming as a Unicorn. This morning I made two scluptures one was vegie and one was sand her is some photos.

Last day of hooked on books week😢 😭

This week it was hooked on books week here is a slide that exsplains everything.

Hooked on books week

This week it is been hooked on books week and tomorrow is book chartcher  day.Today we had to write a speech on what we agree if we parents should get fined for their chlidren having a day off here is my speech.

Hello I’m Bridget and I am here too talk too you about  

why I think that children are allowed too take a break

off school. Firstly I found out that in the UK there can

be a fine for having a day off, You can be fined up to

$5,000 in Nz but in Uk it is 2,500.

I believe that if you have a funeral or you are sick or something

like that you shouldn't have too say anything straight away

because when the teachers ask the child than It could be

harder too focus. It has happened too me. My parents don't

get fined in this country.

Also some families take their children on holidays

during school time. This should be allowed and

parents should not be fined for this. Taking children

on holidays is better then staying at school and not

doing anything but work same thing every day over and

over again. But when you are out on  like a big trip all over

the world you could learn about that.

Do you understand a bit  more but if you just don't even get out of bed or even bother

too get your child up than I think that you should get more motivated.

This week we only had 3 days of school so I dont realy have anything to tell you about. Here is my writing so far. I have not finished the story yet but here you go. I hope you can please give me some feed back on how I can improve. What do you think that the 3 friends will do next?

Mrs spragg Came back!

Wednesday Mrs spragg Came back. If you dont know mrs spragg is my teacher. She went on a huge trip. She went to Europe and visted Wales, England, Disney land in Paris and Spain. Mrs Spraggs trip was 3 months long but when mrs spragg came back she snuck in to class while we were in scilence then it was loud realy quickly. I'm excited to have her back next week to teach us. Sorry about not having much I was stuck on what to do. Please comment on what you want me to post next? Here is some photos.

Sailing recount 2018

Here is my sailing recount we whent sailing last friday here it is.

Sailing recount 2018

There was a awesomeness filled day last Friday, we went to Lake Rura for sailing. It was a pleasant  relaxed and warm day. We started off the day with a talk at school. Then we boarded the bus and left, for Lake Rua.

Rushing to get off the bus we bounded out the door and raced over to where we put our bags away. Then we got a little tutorial. Then away we went we started putting the boat together. We had to get into groups of 2 or 3. Eventually we had put the boats together. After that we had a food break. Then we got taught how too turn the boat on land. Then we learnt more about the boat. How too control the boat as well. Then we had lunch and after eating our lunch we played.

While we were playing the instructors were pulling the boats over too the other side, of the lake.  So they are ready to go on the boats after lunch break. Then  it was time too go sailing not onland but on the water. I enjoyed the ride well  not really. Everyone had too have 2 goes but I didn't because everyone else went first. Eben and Louis had a shipwreck not quite a shipwreck but they tipped over. Eben cut his leg on the boat motor. Louis is fine he didn't cut his leg. The sailing trip was a bit of a drama filled day. But when louis and eben flipped I was glad that I didn't do that.  

After we got dressed we all got on the bus. After that we were leaving as everyone realized that the gate was locked and the instructor had left with the keys. Luckily my dad was with us on the day. Because dad had all his tools with him and dad was going too cut it but I don't know how we got out in the end but we did. Because the guy came with the key and he unlocked the gate.

My writing what I have done well

I first rode about 2 ½ years ago. I fell off when I first ever rode since then I hated horses. But now I adore them. I have got my own horse now and I have improved lots. I find it funny that where I first rode we used to keep Isla’s ponies there. But now our ponies live in a different place. I think that I have stood out of my comfort zone lots of times. But if I didn't meet Jo my life would have been a lot more miserable. Just like this rainy day at school, I would be at the paddocks hugging my pony just sitting there brushing her. Carly is my pony's name. Carly and I have entered our first show about a month ago. Now I just need too improve my heels down and posting Carly is trotting and now I just need to get Carly to trot over the poles not jump. And I want to go too more pony clubs, shows and pony camp I do pony camp every holiday. GOAL  I want to learn to jump by the end of 2019.

I know that My writing is not too good but I tried. Please give feedback about what I can write I have improved my recount throughout the term by, trying to write more by trying not improving by much.

Reading

Hello, Again
Earlier in the week, I posted about Wearable art. Today I am obviously posting about Reading. At the start of the term, we started a new reading program. The new program was pretty much the same as the last one. This term we need to glue the reading sheet into our scrapbook. Then we have set questions about the story to answer. Please comment because I didn't know what else to put in.

 Hey, Bloggers welcome back to my blog. Today I am posting about Wearable Art, Wearable Art is pretty awesome, except for the part where you have to recycle, stuff to make with. I don't like it because you have to recycle a whole body outfit with very little. Up above there is a slide and some of it like the letter part as not been done so I will show you with the end product.

Hi, Peps This week I have had to do maths and I found it hard like very very hard but in the end, it is the simplest math. With the first one, it is 37mm=? and you just need to add a dot /. I did this all + another slide in 2 days

This week we have been working on writing narrative's this is the start of my edited narrative it is not as good as Maddie's writing. I am really good at the story writing thing, but not so good at other writing. Speeches, stories and all that type of thing I can do quite well but not so much the other stuff. Making a periscope

Hi Bloggers, this week on Tuesday yr 5/6 get the class to our selves. We made a periscope I made a periscope with Abby and Maddie. Well, Maddie and Abby didn't actually work with me they just helped me with mine. We made the periscope with cardboard, cello tape, 2x mirrors. I got really confused with it all, so I got some help. Here are some pictures they aren't the best it doesn't quite work as good as it does.

Eco eco and more eco

On Wednesday we had a class trip and we went to the eco dump. We learned about stuff like the five R's - here they are Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Residual disposal. I found the trip not as fun as I thought it would have been. We also got to watch how the big machines work here they are.

The other day we did a dartboard investigation and I finished mine within 5 minutes and there was Chloe Eamon Isacc Corbin and Toby D had a big argue meant and Chloe deleted Corbin's work and I heard them aging so I just left it and finished my work It was all pretty easy below I will insert an picture and you can try and do it but don't copy

Day 2 - It's all in a day's work - 1800's

Bonus Activity - Special Meals

Back then in the 1800s, Maori's ate a simple diet. They ate foods that they can catch in water or grow on land. They did not have access to a supermarket to buy food for meals like we do eg. Tomato sauce but they could grow Tomato's and mush them up.

Here is a pic of my favourite meal:

Corn fritters

It is like pancakes but with sweet corn in them. This is one of my favourites because I love corn, pikelets and pancakes, sometimes without corn but with peaches & ice cream!!!

Here's how to make it: 

Sweet Corn Fritters

Ingredients:

3/4 C flour

1 t baking powder 

1/2 t salt and pepper

1 egg

440g  tin cream style corn

2 T oil

To make:

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and pepper to taste, into a bowl. add egg, mixing to combine. Stir in sweet corn. Heat oil in a frying pan. Drop tablespoons full of corn mixture into pan. Cook until golden then turn and cook other side. Once cooked let sit on a plate with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve hot. 

I like to eat these with tomato sauce or dip into sweet chilly sauce, with a side of salad and oven baked roasties.

Dear Peter

I'm writing to tell you about my journey to New Zealand. I was nine years old when we left our country and I was sixteen when I got here, it was a bumpy long ride with my family and lots of other families from our town. I didn't really want to leave but it was the right thing to do, I miss all my friends. It was very cold at night, we would lie down and spot all of the pictures out of the stars,we had big buckets in the middle of the waka to scoop all the water out after the big waves hit us. We had lots of fish to eat, all the fish we wanted, we would go fishing every night when they come out to hunt for their food. We left to go find a new land because there was not enough space for us so we decided to leave and give someone else our house, we would start a new community with our own rules and good food. Please write back.
